THE NETHERLANDS –  It was May 6, 2010. The financial markets were relatively quiet. Suddenly, the Dow Jones Index began to move downward. First slowly, but from a level of 10,500 the Dow suddenly plunged 1,100 points. Stock traders were seeing things on their computer screens that they had never seen before. They called it the Flash Crash and it happened in half an hour. In 2010 one sell order that was put in at the wrong moment caused the disappearance of 700 billion dollar on the stock markets. In the future an unlucky convolution of circumstances could just as well lead to a new economic chaos. Mr. Van der Pluijm thinks this is a problem we should solve before it gets the chance to destroy our society… Watch the details in the movie.

NEDERLAND – Het was 6 mei 2010. Het was rustig op de financiële markten. Plotseling begon de Dow Jones Index te dalen. Eerst langzaam, maar vanaf 10.500 zakte de Dow ineens 1100 punten. Handelaren zagen dingen op hun computerschermen die ze nog nooit gezien hadden. Ze noemden het de Flash Crash die een half uur duurde. In 2010 zorgde een ongelukkig getimede verkooporder voor het verdwijnen van 700 miljard dollars. In de toekomst kan een ongelukkige samenloop van omstandigheden tot een economische chaos leiden.
